Yes. Every tracking feature in bao is free, including sharing with every caregiver you invite. The only paid items are optional custom avatar packs. There are no ads and no subscription is needed to log, chart, or export.
Does bao sell my data or show ads?
No. bao never shows ads and never sells your family's data or uses it for advertising. Your logs are shared only with the caregivers you invite.
What can I track with bao?
Nursing (with a side-by-side timer), bottles, pumping, sleep and naps, diapers, growth, first foods with a top-9 allergen exposure map, potty training, and elimination communication (EC) catches and misses.
Can my partner, nanny, or grandparents use bao too?
Yes. Invite as many caregivers as you like for free. Everyone sees the same log in real time. Invite someone as a caregiver who can log, or as a view-only observer.
Does bao work for toddlers, not just newborns?
Yes. bao changes with your child's stage: the infant stage focuses on feeds, sleep, and diapers; the transitional stage adds solids, an allergen map, and optional EC tracking; the toddler stage adds a potty training mode designed around pediatric research, with sticker rewards and no penalties for accidents.
Is bao available on iPhone and Android?
bao is on Google Play for Android, with a Wear OS watch app and home screen widgets. A native iPhone app is coming soon; until then, iPhone and desktop users can use the bao web app at mybao.baby and add it to their home screen.
Can I use ChatGPT or Claude with bao?
Yes, if you choose to. bao supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), so you can connect your own AI assistant to read your logs or add entries in plain language. It's off unless you turn it on.
